Key Features of the training element of the CDT programme
- Cohort based training and networking to foster: communication, synergy and peer-to-peer learning between CDT PhD students. All researchers undertake 18 weeks of taught training over the life of their project. 12 of these are from a set list of modules and will be taken as a cohort in residential weeks.
- Pilot plant week, residential weeks, Summer Camps and CIM networking events form part of the formal cohort training.
- Tailored rotation projects can be designed to allow CDT PhD students to gain solid understanding and confident experience in two collaborating disciplines prior to undertaking the final research project
- Close alignment with the EPSRC CIM to increase the student role in knowledge transfer to industry and increase their understanding of pathways to impact on society and the economy.
