UCL Biochemical Engineering Crook Society 2023

The Crook Society is the UCL Biochemical Engineering undergraduate events society and we're very pleased to announce the new committee members for 2023-2024:

Naomi Ayanniran, President

I Studied A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Spanish in Manchester, UK and am now taking an MEng Biochemical Engineering. I’m interested primarily in biopharmaceuticals & cell and gene therapy.
I am looking forward to working with the rest of the committee to provide a space for undergrads in the department that is welcoming and inclusive. I am also looking forward to promoting more engagement between current students and alumni.

Rish Sali, Vice President

At school in Surrey I studied Biology, Chemistry and Maths A levels. I’m on the BEng Biochemical Engineering degree and my research interest is on how AI can be integrated into refining drug discovery and production.
I’m looking forward to increasing the number of networking events and opportunities and creating more collaborative research opportunities between students and faculty.

Eshaan Saigal, Events Secretary

I studied in India and my subjects were Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Business Studies, Home science and English. At UCL Biochemical Engineering I’m studying a BSc in Bioprocessing of New Medicines (Sciences and Engineering)
I am particularly interested in three areas of academic and research: lab-grown meats, CAR-T cell therapy, and pharmacovigilance.
I really enjoyed my time as an FYR last year, so I'm eager to plan more events this year and, hopefully, strike a balance between academic and social events.

Ayanfe Adedeji, General Secretary

My A Levels were in  Biology, Chemistry and Maths and I’m now an MEng Biochemical Engineering student. I have a particular research interest in Regenerative Medicine and the use of stem cell therapies
I look forward to contributing to the department outside of academics and organising events to continue to promote strong relationships within our great community.

Jaanvi Gandhi, Treasurer

I completed the IB program in India before coming to study my degree here in BSc Bioprocessing of New Medicines (Business and Management) and I’m interested in Cell and gene therapy bioprocessing.
As treasurer, I am looking forward to working with the rest of the committee and the department to ensure we can have more events this year.
