Seven undergraduates on Year In Industry in 2020

We are pleased to announce this year seven students are completing their Year in Industry placement with partner companies: Pall Biotech, Roche Diagnostics, Oxford Biomedica, UCB, Sartorius and Eli Lilly Ireland.

The Engineering (Biochemical) MEng programme has the option of students spending their final year working with a company.
“I’m taking part in various projects focusing on Cell and Gene therapy. Currently I’m working on the manufacturing of AAV's.”

“During the placement, I’ll be working on a project within the Process Research and Development department to optimise the upstream process of lentiviral vector manufacturing for gene therapy.”

“I’m working in the CPS R&D department in the Roche Diagnostic Division. For the placement year I will be mainly working with Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) based biosensors as an inherent method of antibody screening and characterisation.”
