Warm Welcome to Dr Sunny Bains

We are very pleased to announce that Sunny has joined the department as a teaching fellow from the Engineering Faculty Office.

Sunny’s background is as a scientist, technical journalist, and editor, so her specialism is in teaching communication and research skills to people with a technical background. In terms of teaching, Sunny will continue working with undergraduate students across the faculty through the Integrated Engineering Programme, but will also start lecturing our Biochemical Engineering postgraduates. In conjunction with her direct teaching work, she is developing a research and communication hub that can be used by science and engineering students and teachers across the college and beyond. In addition, Sunny will be pushing forward with her work on UCL Engineering Inspiration (http://engins.org), a curated website intended to give students a path to understanding research and industry through articles from the technical and trade press. Finally, Sunny is writing a book intended to help people in research and development evaluate emerging technologies.
