Welcome to UCL BiLingo!
BiLingo is a UCL-based Bilingualism/Multilingualism Education and Information Service that aims to provide the London community and key agencies in the capital with the most up-to-date research-based advice, information, support and training on childhood bilingualism/multilingualism and learning English as an Additional Language (EAL).
We are living in the most linguistically diverse city in the world! The latest official figures reveal that more than 300 languages are spoken in London’s schools, offering new cultural perspectives and linguistic richness to all of London’s pupils. Very many of these bilingual/multilingual children growing up in London attend Complementary Schools (Community Language Schools) on Saturdays/evenings to maintain their home language(s) in addition to their Mainstream School, where they acquire English as an Additional Language (EAL children). BiLingo’s bespoke service is available to anyone interested or involved with raising, educating, and caring for bilingual/multilingual and EAL children.
