To meet net-zero targets wholesale change is needed in the way we consume and use resources. For global change to happen, policy-makers, business and communities need to be engaged. We train future sustainability leaders to drive this change.

Our research

Our mission is to generate knowledge that promotes the sustainable use of natural resources globally. Our multidisciplinary  team produces innovative research across the topics of resource efficiency, circular economy, eco-innovation, and low carbon societies.

Much of our work is grounded in partnership with industry, government and other academic bodies, working together in tailored research and consultancy projects.

Celebrating 10 years of the UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources

Over the next 10 weeks we will be celebrating 10 years of the UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources (ISR).  Launched under the leadership of Professor Paul Ekins in 2011, the ISR is now firmly established as a leading research institute on the sustainable use of global natural resources.
