10 March 2017

The Bartlett has once again been ranked as the top institution for architecture/built environment studies in Europe, and second globally following the QS World Subject rankings.

UCL

The faculty’s recognition was one of a number of successes for UCL, in which 9 subject areas ranked in the global top 10, and 4 areas in the top 5 worldwide.

Scoring 95.7 overall, The Bartlett was pipped by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to first place by 2.3 points.

Professor Alan Penn, Dean of The Bartlett, said: “This recognition of the research and teaching within the faculty is a testament to everyone’s hard work at The Bartlett and across UCL. We’re investing to further improve the student experience and with the opening of Here East later this year, The Bartlett continues to be a unique and truly world-leading faculty for built environment study”.

Published annually, the QS World University Rankings collects opinions from thousands of academics and employers and analyses 28.5 million research papers and more than 113 million citations to measure the impact of work done by institutions.
