BBC Four showcases Dr Katherine Curran’s research on plastics

UCL Institute for Sustainable Heritage Lecturer Dr Katherine Curran’s research on plastics and the UCL ISH Heritage Science Lab was featured on BBC Four's 'Hidden Killers of the Post War Home' on Wednesday 25th May.

Filming for the show, which is presented by Suzannah Lipscomb, looks at hazards in the home throughout history, took place in the Heritage Science Lab.

This episode focuses on the post-war home, and Katherine shared her expertise and enthusiasm for plastics, discussing the exciting developments that occurred in the science and manufacture of plastics during and after WWII and the impact this had on people’s lives and homes.
