Biography
Cosmin joined The Bartlett in September 2018 to take up a part-time teaching role in the MSc Light and Lighting, where he leads the Lighting Fundamentals module. He also works as a Principal Consultant in Lighting for BRE, where he leads and undertakes consultancy and research projects for public and private sector customers into all aspects of electric lighting and daylighting. His areas of expertise include: energy efficient lighting; lighting impacts on well-being and performance; lighting surveys and optimisation; POE studies; light pollution; computer modelling of daylight and electric light; and delivering presentations and training on lighting.
Prior to joining BRE in 2011, Cosmin worked for ten years in lighting design and research, including four years of academic experience in lighting and electrical engineering. Between 2012 and 2017 he was also a visiting lecturer in lighting at Brunel University.
Cosmin carries out research, measurements and computer modelling work in relation to the WELL Building Standard with a particular emphasis on the Light criteria.
