The UCL Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources is comprised of four Institutes, Energy Institute, Institute for Environmental Design and Engineering, Institute for Sustainable Heritage and Institute for Sustainable Resources, that deliver world-leading teaching, research and policy support on the challenges of climate change and energy security.
The KTP Associate will develop operational stage model calibration tools, making DesignBuilder’s software the only mainstream building performance simulation software provider offering holistic design stage and operation stage performance assessment capabilities. UCL and DesignBuilder Software are coming together through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), a national scheme which helps businesses to innovate and grow, by linking businesses with a university and a highly-qualified graduate, known as a KTP Associate. We are now recruiting for a KTP Associate who will work full-time on this innovative project putting the latest academic research into practice, based at DesignBuilder offices in Stroud (Gloucestershire, UK).
Key Requirements
For appointment at Grade 7 the post holder will have a PhD in Building Performance Analysis/ Energy Model Calibration or closely related subject, be near to completion or have commensurate research experience – with or without specific relevant industry experience. Expertise of carrying out model calibration studies and advanced skills in building physics and energy modelling with a focus on advanced parametric analysis and model calibration are essential.
