IEDE's Director to be made IBPSA Fellow

19 March 2019

IEDE’s Director Dejan Mumovic is to be made a Fellow of the International Building Performance Simulation Association

IBPSA

Professor Mumovic will be inducted into the fellowship at the Building Simulation 2019 Conference in Rome this September.  The fellowship is awarded to individuals who have attained distinction in the field of building performance simulation through research, education and practice.

In Dejan’s 15 year career he has co-led or significantly contributed to 40 research projects, and co-authored over 120 peer reviewed publications including two publications focusing on complex built environments: Technical Memorandum on Integrated School Design (CIBSE, 2014) and A Handbook of Sustainable Building Design and Engineering – An Integrated Approach to Energy, Health and Operational Performance (first edition: Earthscan, 2009; second edition: Taylor Francis, 2015).

The fellowship also recognises Dejan’s significant contribution to the development of teaching in Built Environment, and especially Environmental Design.  Dejan has also been the driving force and the Chair of the MEng Engineering and Architectural Design, a radical four-year programme designed to address fragmentation in the building design industry by combining the major disciplines of architectural, structural and environmental design and engineering. He has also contributed to the running and development of IEDE’s other programmes including MSc Environmental Design and Engineering, MSc Health, Wellbeing and Sustainable Buildings, and MSc Smart Buildings and Digital Engineering.
