We're hiring: Lecturer (Teaching) in Energy and Data Analytics

About the role

The appointment is to support the Institute’s MSc programme in Energy Systems and Data Analytics, a multidisciplinary MSc combining machine learning and data science with a holistic understanding of the energy system.

Key duties and responsibilities will be to lead a module on Energy Data Analysis and to support the delivery of other modules. The candidate is also expected to take on the role of deputy course director.

This post is available from September 2021 and is funded for 12 months in the first instance, further funding to support the post may be available.

Key requirements

The successful candidate will have a PhD (or in the process of submitting a PhD) or commensurate research experience in computer science, statistics, electrical engineering, software engineering, data science, mathematics or related fields. A specialism in machine learning and artificial intelligence applied in the energy sector is essential, together with evidence of developing and using artificial intelligence or machine learning to tackle real world problems relating to the energy system and decarbonisation. The successful candidate will also have previous experience of teaching relevant topics in higher education and experience of providing pastoral support to students.
