We're hiring: Research Fellow in Data Science and End Use Energy Demand

UCL Energy Institute’s Smart Energy Research Lab (SERL) are looking for a Research Fellow in Data Science and End Use Energy Demand.

The main purpose of this role is to undertake energy demand research using Smart Energy Research Lab (SERL) data and to develop a range of data analysis, data quality, data linking and other data management processes to ensure SERL data is research-ready and fit for purpose. As a core member of the SERL team, this post will undertake research across the SERL research programme and provide key input to the design and development of the SERL research portal.

This post has funding until 27th August 2022 in the first instance.

About SERL

SERL aims to deliver a world leading multi-disciplinary research programme, facilitated by a smart meter data portal, transforming GB energy research through the long-term provision of high quality, high-resolution energy data that will support the development of a reliable evidence base for intervention, observational and longitudinal studies across the socio-technical spectrum.

Key Requirements

The successful applicant will have a degree with a strong data science, statistical or quantitative research component and/or similar experience in a comparable working environment. A PhD in a relevant field, or close to completion, or equivalent relevant experience (including relevant experience in non-academic organizations) is also essential. The candidate should have demonstrable applied experience of managing and analysing data in a rigorous manner and/or experience in undertaking research in relation to energy and buildings.
