8 December 2017
Prof Paul Ruyssevelt of the UCL Energy Institute presented at the high profile Inspire conference in Jaipur, India on 30th November.
The Inspire conference, ran from 28th November to 1st December, attracting prominent speakers from the central, state and local government in India and many key speakers from other parts of the world.
An important feature of the conference was the involvement of industry, with the participation of companies such as Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL, an Indian company, is the world’s largest Energy Service Company), Schneider Electric, Siemens, Saint Gobain and many more.
Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) and Energy Performance Contracts formed an important theme throughout the conference. In this context, Prof Ruyssevelt presented on the results of important research, conducted by Pamela Fennel in her PhD studies, into the risks and rewards associated with EPCs for both ESCOs and clients. The presentation also covered the scope and options for Measurement and Verification (M&V) which will be an important factor in energy saving projects as companies such as EESL move beyond the installation of LEDs lamps and lighting systems to more complex packages of measures.”
