UCL attends New Delhi energy summit alongside Business and Energy Secretary Greg Clark

This week Professor Tadj Oreszczyn of the UCL Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources attended an India/UK energy summit, speaking as an expert representative from the UK energy research community.

Tadj attended a roundtable on Research Innovation and Technology during the first India-UK Energy for Growth Dialogue, held on the 6th and 7th of April in New Delhi, India.

Leading the British delegation was Greg Clark, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, while Minister Piyush Goyal, Minister for Power, and New & Renewable Energy represented the Government of India.

The event included Ministerial discussions to promote technical and commercial partnerships, with parallel roundtables including sessions on: The Utilities of the Future (market reforms, smart grids, meters, energy storage, renewable energy integration etc.), Green Financing, and Research, Innovation and Technology.

Yesterday, a joint investment of £240 million was unveiled by the UK and Indian governments to encourage investment into India’s rapidly growing energy and renewables market and deepen trading ties between the two countries.
