UCL-Energy Principal Research Associate Professor Philip Steadman has released 'Building Types and Built Forms', a new book looking at the history of some selected building types, interwoven with chapters about their geometry.

The period covered is roughly 1800 to 1940. The geographical scope extends to France, the United States and Britain, with the central focus on London. The book is aimed at academics in architecture, planning and building science, as well as to practitioners, historians and students of architecture.
