Energy & Resource Economics Group

The UCL Energy & Resource Economics Group brings together UCL researchers whose work considers the economic aspects of energy and resource demand and supply.

Our interests relate to the economics of energy and resources, including:

market competition
market integration
the micro- and macro-economic impacts of renewable generation
the economics of renewables
the integration of resources in the energy and power systems
economic policy initiatives
technological innovation and costs
market failures and policies to avoid these
the influence of economic forces on the demand and supply of energy and resources

Our aims are to:

support internal and external collaboration with our economists on research studies, multidisciplinary projects and proposals
promote the research in energy and resource economics
provide support to group members developing expertise in these research areas, including PhD students
establish an expert circle of economists in this area
create a platform to explore the implications for practice of our research
offer a contact point for economists in this area
