Research summary

My research interests lie at the intersection of management, social science, and engineering. I am a Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) Leverhulme Trust Research Fellow 2022-23, working on understanding and designing digital twins for meeting a Net Zero vision through a system-of-systems approach.

I have been looking at digital technologies, such as Building Information Modelling (BIM), as innovations for generating, sharing, and managing information, communication and knowledge among project actors and ecosystems. As digital innovations affect collaboration and how individuals, groups and supply chains work together, I'm interested in digital and relational aspects of digital economy.

All my publications are open access through:

Ongoing project(s):

_"A ‘system-of-systems’ approach to meet a net-zero vision through digital twins" funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) Leverhulme Trust Research Fellowship (LTRF) scheme (2022-2023)

_"How will the new talents change project management in a data-rich era?" funded by Project Management Institute (PMI) (2022-2023) (Principal Investigator) in collaboration with Professor Paul Chan, Dr Yan Liu and Kirk Maritshane

_"Cloud-based Building Information Modelling (CBIM)" funded by H2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks (ITN) (2020-2024) (Co-Investigator) in collaboration with 5 universities and 3 industrial partners:

Selected past projects:

_"AEC Production Control Room" funded by InnovateUK (2020-2022) (Co-Investigator) in collaboration with Professor Duncan Wilson, Dr Grant Mills and industrial partners:

_"AEC Delta Mobility" funded by InnovateUK (2018-2020) (Principal Investigator) in collaboration with Dimitrie Stefanescu and industrial partners:

Teaching summary

I'm Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academcy (SFHEA) and I usually teach at postgraduate and executive/post-experience levels. In 2020, I founded the newly-launched MSc in Digital Engineering Management of which I am past-immediate Director:

Currently, I'm supervising six PhD students and I have very limited slots (2-3 places) for accepting self-motivated PhD students in the following areas (in no particular order):

_Digital ecosystems and platforms

_Digital innovation management

_Supply chain management

_Project management

_Blockchain technology

_Building Information Modelling.

I am Associate Professor in Digital Innovation and Management and management consultant. I am an executive coach on digital through the Digital Transformation Executive Education (ExecEd) short courses offering in collaboration with Dr Beth Morgan:

I'm also involved in the UCL's Construction Blockchain Consortium (CBC) social enterprise as a Steering Board member and researcher:

Prior to joining academia, I worked as architect and design manager on a number of complex, international, and varying-scale projects in Greece, the Netherlands, and the Middle-East. I have a PhD degree in Design and Construction Management on the ‘Alignment of Partnering with Construction IT’ from Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), Netherlands, and a MSc degree (cum laude) in Architecture – with an emphasis on digital – also from TU Delft. Before moving to the Netherlands, I graduated (cum laude) from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in Greece, with a Diploma in Architectural Engineering.

I am member of the Architects Registration Board (ARB) in the UK, the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE-TCG) and the Association for Project Management (MAPM).
