BSSC associates participate at United Nation's International Forum on Cities and Construction

Prof. Tim Broyd, Dr Shen Wei and PhD student Weibing Liu from The Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction (BSSC) contributed to the UN International Forum on Cities and Construction in China
Prof. Tim Broyd, invited by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), delivered a keynote speech entitled 'Innovation and Exploration of Low Carbon Buildings and Urban Infrastructure', at the United Nation’s International Forum on Cities and Construction, held between 28 October and 01 November 2023, in Shanghai, China.
The title has a close link with the key theme of the Forum 'Urban Futures - Opportunities for Industry', focusing on digital twin sharing data to optimise new modes of decision making and management of current and future infrastructure, and to promote the diversity of sustainable urban development practices.
Dr Shen Wei, contributed to a round-table discussion chaired by Weibing Liu, focusing on the theme of sustainable development of cities and building industry. In the discussion, Dr Shen Wei raised the importance of building users in realising low-carbon buildings and the need to take into account the implicit carbon of buildings.
