31 July 2023

The Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction features as a case study in the report 'Women in Infrastructure' by Infrastructure Matters.

Dr Kat Burger, Dr Fran Scott and Prof. Priti Parikh

The Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction has been featured as one of the case studies in the Women in Infrastructure Report published by Infrastructure Matters which was launched recently at the House of Lords. The BSSC case study was co-authored by Professor Priti Parikh, Dr Francesca Scott and Dr Kat Burger.

Showcasing our inclusive curriculum health check, the new MBA scholarships for women, and the role of conducting impactful research, the report highlights approaches for tackling the under-representation of women in infrastructure.

The School appreciates Honorary Professor Julia Prescot, Deputy Chair of the National Infrastructure Commission, Co-Founder of Meridiam and Honorary Professor at UCL, for her generous support to establish The Prescot Scholarship for Women in Leadership and Construction at BSSC. Like-minded partners who share the vision to accelerate gender equality in construction and infrastructure and would like to know about ways they can play a part should please contact Anjali Singh, Senior Philanthropy Manager (The Bartlett) at a.singh@ucl.ac.uk

The School also appreciates Dr Juliano Denicol for his leadership in developing the MBA programme and Infrastructure Matters for their editorial work.

Professor Priti Parikh said: “Thrilled that The Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction UCL is part of this important campaign and work to foster gender diversity in our industry. Fabulous afternoon at the UK House of Lords for the launch of the Women in Infrastructure Report led by Infrastructure Matters and to discuss next steps to drive real change for women in infrastructure.  As we advance, BSSC has the ambition to develop further our scholarship offering to increase gender diversity and leverage mentorship opportunities with our industrial partners.”
