The Bartlett School of Construction and Project Management has successfully launched our brand-new MSc in Real Estate Economics and Investment Analysis. The course is designed to equip students with an understanding of the economics of the real estate market and give them skills to use data to make informed investment decisions.

In most countries the property market has a higher market capitalisation than the stock market and comprises over 60% of the average household’s wealth. Therefore, both economics and financial economics of the real estate market are rapidly growing fields. However, although availability of data has been hindering progress of research in this area for decades, recent developments in data collection and analysis offer opportunities recognised by academics and practitioners alike.

Our new master’s degree in Real Estate Economics and Investment Analysis aims to respond to these developments by providing students with an understanding of how real estate markets work based on the latest academic research. This course will also provide students with cutting edge analytical frameworks for data driven investment decision making, and how to apply modern methods to collect and interpret property market data.

Dr Nikodem Szumilo, Associate Professor in Economics and Finance of the Built Environment and course director comments:

"We're very excited to offer this new MSc programme in a dynamically developing field. Real Estate Investment is a very exciting field at the moment. As the market is changing, the ability to understand how it works and where it is going will be a key to success."

Applications are now open for students joining in September 2021 - find out more

We are pleased to be offering Graduate Open Days online this January and will also be hosting live Q+A sessions. This is a great opportunity to discuss the programme and ask specific questions directly to Dr Nikodem. Register here for Open Day.
