Conscious Cities — Loneliness in the city
15 March 2017
For decades, loneliness has been one of city life’s most documented and discussed issues, yet little has been done to adapt our built environment in response.

Dr Claire McAndrew joined James Edler at Loneliness and the city: The neuroscience of urban relationships, a Conscious Cities event hosted at The Cube, 07 February 2017. Cities are often blamed for amplifying loneliness and leading to a spectrum of mental health issues. Is the urban condition compatible with the healthy relationships we seek? How has living around more people become associated with having fewer meaningful connections? This event discussed the role a conscious city should or could have in facilitating personal relationships.
