CPM staff recognised for outstanding contributions to students’ lives

13 June 2017

A number of CPM staff have been recognised by our students for their exceptional support, expertise, dedication and effort at the UCLU 2017 Student Choice Teaching Awards.

CPM Student Choice Award nominees and winner

Aeli Roberts, BSc Project Management for Construction programme leader, received a Student Choice Teaching Award for providing outstanding personal support for her undergraduate students. Aeli's students also nominated her for awards in outstanding teaching and outstanding support for teaching.

In their nominations, Aeli’s students noted:

“It is a testament to Aeli’s dedication to this course and effort that students are able to come into the department without hesitation and speak to members of the lecturing or research staff that are influencing the very literature we are learning from.”

Aeli said:
“Being given this award is the nicest thing that’s happened to me in my academic career. I’m really glad that students feel supported and listened to during their studies, and that I have the chance to build those trusting relationships as they approach the challenges and responsibilities of being at university.

I see the degree programme as the beginning of our relationship with our students. It’s wonderful to keep in touch with former students and see them develop their careers, and build a supportive community after graduation.

Congratulations to Aeli and to all CPM staff nominated for 2017 Student Choice Teaching Awards.
