Manufacturing... and me? Transform your future research at this interdisciplinary Discovery Day
This Discovery Day will demonstrate, explain and promote cutting-edge research at the AMRC (Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre), just outside Sheffield. This exciting, interdisciplinary event is the first of four Discovery Days from the Transforming Construction Network Plus (N+), which is part of the Transforming Construction Challenge.
- Learn about the core concepts that underpin the manufacturing discipline
- Consider how your own expertise could contribute to the Transforming Construction Challenge
- Visit the Factory of the Future and understand how interdisciplinary collaboration is key to its success
- Reflect on new perspectives, develop new collaborations, and create new research ideas
Administered by UK Research and Innovation, and supported through the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund, the Transforming Construction Challenge seeks to produce safe, healthy, and efficient buildings by bringing together the construction, manufacturing, energy, social sciences and digital sectors. As part of this programme, the Transforming Construction Network Plus is uniting academic and industrial communities to create a new research and knowledge base, dedicated to address the systemic problems holding back the sector.
Applications from early career researchers and probationary lecturers are particularly welcome – academics and researchers from ANY discipline may apply.
Places are strictly limited, so please register your interest by 12pm Monday 1 April 2019. Applicants will be notified on Friday 5 April if their application has been successful.
