Through the year, talks by internationally-renowned visiting speakers, academics, associates and affiliates give students and staff the chance to deepen their knowledge and understanding of architecture.
UCL also occasionally awards visiting professorships, honorary professorships and honorary degrees to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to The Bartlett and the wider built environment community. Current holders of these include Maxwell Hutchinson, Itsuko Hasegawa, Mark Whitby and Sir Nicholas Grimshaw.

Affiliate Academics
Academics from outside the UK can spend between four weeks and a year at UCL following their own research, on their own or with members of UCL departments, under our affiliate academics scheme.
The Bartlett School of Architecture accepts two affiliate academics a year. To apply, first please approach a member of staff to act as your host; refer to our Programmes section (key staff are listed for each programme) and our Academics list.
Then e-mail the Research and Enterprise team at: bartlett.arch.researchandenterprise@ucl.ac.uk with your request along with your CV, statement of proposed work and sponsor letter if applicable.
