Felicity joins The Bartlett as Associate Professor in Professional Practice, Director of Professional Practice, and Director of Professional Practice in Architecture Part 3. In leading the Part 3 programme, she will succeed Professor Soo Ware, who has led the school’s professional practice for many years. Soo will continue at The Bartlett as a key part-time member of the professional practice team.

Felicity is a practicing architect and the founder of White Table Architects, a practice specialising in sustainable design, interiors, architecture and landscape. Her academic interests include innovative pedagogies, which address the role of education, ethics and alternative routes to qualification, with a focus on addressing vertical and horizontal inequalities in current systems.

Felicity commented on her appointment:

I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to direct The Bartlett’s Professional Studies programmes. I look forward to working with architects poised on the threshold of practicing professionally and helping them to develop a deep understanding of professionalism, ethics and competence and the social purpose of architecture, as well as addressing climate literacy.

Architecture Part 3 is often perceived as the last hurdle to overcome before practicing as an architect rather than an educational opportunity. I look forward to working with colleagues to reframe the candidate experience and rethink the curriculum, building on the work of my predecessor Professor Susan Ware.”

Felicity has 20 years’ experience as an educator, and has taught and examined at The Bartlett, South Bank University, Kent School of Architecture & Planning, Camberwell College of Art, Glasgow School of Art and Cambridge University. She joins The Bartlett from leading two programmes at Ravensbourne University.
