Handler Audio Aid

We are delighted to announce that a doctoral candidate from the Bartlett School of Architecture - Sophie Handler - has passed her PhD examination.

Sophie Handler, a PhD candidate in the PhD Architectural Design programme, has passed her PhD examination with examiners Professor Judith Rugg and Dr David Pinder. Sophie's thesis entitled A Little Bit of TLC: Towards an Alternative Urban Practice of Elderly Care was supervised by Professor Jane Rendell and Dr Penelope Haralambidou. The thesis was described by the examiners as 'highly engaging, thoughtful and imaginative ... through both its practice and its text' as well as 'strikingly and innovatively composed'. The examiners noted that the original contribution of the thesis 'lies not only in the materials presented and discussed but also in its form. The textual experimentation ... is done with remarkable skill and verve, providing significant insights into the practices and the issues, and embodying - rather than simply recounting - the importance given to explorative, reflective, open-ended, playful and (dis)orientating modes of working'.

Congratulations Dr Handler!
