The exhibition takes place as part of Ars Electronica Festival 2021. The media festival, which runs from 8 - 12 September, was founded in 1979 and celebrates art, technology and society. This year's event is a hybrid event that includes exhibitions, concerts, talks, conferences, workshops and guided tours at more than 80 other locations around the globe.
Polysocial Realities takes place at nightclub and arts space, fold.ldn. Design for Performance and Interaction MArch students will show a range of works in progress across diverse media and forms. Exhibited works will include interactive installations, and immersive virtual environments, wearable technologies, audio and visual experimentation, and even performing robots. With the Covid-19 pandemic having forced so much creative practice and exhibition into virtual spaces, this will be the first opportunity in two years for these Master's students to show their work in a physical setting. The exhibiting students welcome responses and feedback to their work, which may shape its future direction.
The exhibition is open from 14:00-20:00 on 10 September. It is free to attend; visitors can register for tickets at Eventbrite through the link below.
The exhibition is supported by Futur.Shock - a multi-disciplinary arts platform embedded within fold.ldn and positioned at the intersection of electronic music, sound, performance, & digital art.
Exhibiting students will also host an Instagram takeover on 9 September on the school's Instagram channel, posting creative work and ideas throughout the day.
