The Bartlett Architecture Society
About
The Bartlett School of Architecture Society (BSAS) is a student-led departmental society with the aim of raising student voices and driving cultural change. The society’s ambition is to connect the diverse expertise and experiences of the students, providing an opportunity to change the way in which we engage architectural education.
The BSAS invites everyone to get involved and work for change with students across the school, and welcomes new members.
A series of events have been planned for Welcome Week and the society invites all students to join in and take this opportunity to meet their fellow students both current and those new to The Bartlett.

- 28 September | 18:00 | Pub Night Social
Join for a relaxed pub social at The Resting Hare, close to The Bartlett School of Architecture, on Tuesday 28 September starting at 6pm BST.
The Resting Hare offers reasonably priced refreshments and is within walking distance of the school.
Come along for a chat and a drink to meet and mingle with fellow freshers and other students from across all years and programmes.
- 29 September | 10:30 | Coffee Morning
Come along to a chilled out coffee morning with the Society at 22 Gordon Street in the brand-new ground floor student area.
The school has its own reasonably priced cafe onsite to grab a drink and get to know your student cohort. Come alone or as a group - the society welcomes everyone.
- 29 September | 18:00 | Movie Night
The Bartlett Architecture Society invites students to join for a movie night in the brand new student area of 22 Gordon Street. A screening of 'Ex Machina' will be shown, accompanied by popcorn and soft drinks.
Filmed in the beautiful and futuristic Juvet Landscape Hotel, Norway, the film follows a young programmer embarking on a strange scientific experiment where he is expected to assess artificial intelligence and conscience by interacting with a female robot.
- 30 September | 12:30 | Design Museum Trip
Join the society for an afternoon at the The Design Museum. Student attendees can meet at 12:30 BST in the UCL Main Quad or at 13:15 BST at the museum main doors.
The Design Museum in Kensington, London is the world's leading museum for contemporary design. Founded in 1989 by Sir Terence Conran, visitors can explore architectural design, fashion, graphics and more.
This event is free and the society has pre-booked tickets.
- 30 September | 19:00 | Bartlett Bar Social
The Bartlett Bar Social will be in a central London location for all students, both new and current, to enjoy.
Location to be confirmed shortly.
- 01 October | 10:00 | BSAS Hoodie Customisation
Come along to The Bartlett School of Architecture Society’s ‘Bartlett Hoodie’ event, where you’ll have the opportunity to meet with members of The Bartlett, staff and students alike and create you own customised Bartlett Hoodies! A mix of social event and workshop, the event aims to create a stronger and more inclusive community in The Bartlett, all while getting you an amazing piece of merch to wear with pride.
At the event, there will be tools for customisation of the hoodie, such as pre-made vinyl cut outs, embroidered patches, fabric markers and paint. Feel free to bring supplies and pre-planned designs. Each person will come leave with a hoodie, a certificate of ‘Bartlett Authentication’ for the hoodie, and hopefully new friends and a feeling of belonging in one of the world’s best architecture faculties!
Purchase your hoodie on The Bartlett School of Architecture Society’s page on the SU website for the low price of £20. This includes the hoodie itself and admission to the customisation event!
The workshop will take place in the brand new student space located on the ground floor of 22 Gordon Street.
