ACAN Education

Last November, Architects! Climate Action Network (ACAN) produced an Education Toolkit containing ideas, guidance and resources for use by students, tutors and others who want to take immediate, ongoing and meaningful action towards a new climate education for architecture. The content was informed by collective outputs and needs from educators’ workshops last summer.

At the start of this new academic year, ACAN want to start the discussion afresh with collaborators old and new - with an online workshop to discuss what needs to change and how the Toolkit can help those learning and working in architecture and the built environment. The outcomes of the workshop are intended to help shape and build a new revision of the Toolkit. The event is open to students, educators and anyone with an interest in being part of the urgent changes needed across education in the built environment and beyond. At this critical moment, it is a great chance to take stock of where we are collectively, and the actions, opportunities and changes that lie ahead for the upcoming year.

Register online to join a lively and collaborative workshop with an introduction to the current Toolkit followed by wider discussions and breakout rooms. No previous experience of using the Toolkit is necessary, and students and educators are welcome from the UK and beyond.

Speakers

ACAN Education, StuCAN and guests. ACAN Education and StuCAN are part of the Architects! Climate Action Network, a network of individuals within architecture and related built environment professions taking action to address the twin crises of climate and ecological breakdown.
