Greece is a small country in the Mediterranean Sea. It holds about 10 million people. The capital of GreeceAthens, the capital city of Greece, should be on top of your list of places to see. The main attraction in the city is the Parthenon (built around 435 BC), the temple dedicated to Athena, the protector goddess of the city of Athens in antiquity. You can also visit many archaeological sites. Among them the theatre of Herod Atticus, below the Acropolis, where the Athens Festival and many concerts are held during summer. It is always worthwhile to visit the National Museum and the National Gallery. The Greek IslandsGreece means islands, many islands. From the port of the Piraeus ferry boats depart every day to the Aegean islands. Alternatively, you can catch a plane from the new Eleftherios Venizelos airport. Santorini (ΣΑΝΤΟΡΙΝΗ)The island of Santorini is to this day an active volcano. From the place of Fira you can watch the sky fill with colors as the sun goes down in what is said to be one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world. During the morning you can sunbathe on the black-pebbled volcanic beaches.
Mykonos (ΜΥΚΟΝΟΣ)For a more active holiday experience visit the island of Mykonos. There water sports are the order of the day. Be it wind-surfing, jet-skiing or scuba-diving, whatever you want to do you will find it on offer. On the island you can find some of the most fabulous night clubs where you can dance until the sun rises. And you always have the chance to meet celebrities and Hollywood stars. Links |
