Greek Community in the UK

In the decades of the 60s and 70s many Greeks from Greece and Cyprus moved to the UK. Many of them live in London. Also, many young Greeks study at British Universities every year. The Greeks in the UK have created a vibrant community and have brought with them a small part of Greek culture. There are many schools organized by the Greek community where young people learn Greek.

You can also find many Greek restaurants located mainly in North London which offer a wide variety of delicious dishes. There are also clubs near Oxford Street and Soho where you can hear the latest pop hits or even traditional Greek music with ‘bouzouki’. 

Where can you learn Greek in the UK

There is a Greek Primary School and a Greek Secondary School in London.
These schools follow the Greek curriculum. However, students can take their A Levels in English, Maths and Modern Greek. Students can get admission to British Universities and Universities in Greece and Cyprus.

Greek classes of different levels are offered. Additionally, cultural events such as lectures on Greek literature and art exhibitions take place there.

A London day school for boys and girls from 3-16 years.

Language Centre, University College London in Gower Street
Greek courses are offered in the Language Centre of many Universities in Britain.
