Dr Arne Hofmann promoted to Professorial Teaching Fellow

23 July 2020

We would like to wish congratulations to Dr Arne Hofmann (Faculty Tutor for Arts & Humanities) for his well-deserved promotion to Professorial Teaching Fellow.

Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities, Professor Stella Bruzzi said:

"I am thrilled and delighted to be able to write to you with the news that our Faculty Tutor, Arne Hofmann, has been made a Professorial Teaching Fellow, in recognition of how expertly he has presided over education strategy and operations across the Joint Faculties and SSEES. Arne brings immense academic awareness and sensibility to the role of Faculty Tutor, enriched by an encyclopaedic knowledge of regulations and a profound appreciation of institutional mores.

He embodies a quite unique set of skills; that Robert Rauschenberg's collage Retroactive adorns Arne's office wall seems metaphorically appropriate. This promotion reflects the esteem in which Arne has always been held, but is also, more immediately, recognition of the acuity and resilience he has brought to our management of the current crisis.

Although we can't all gather together to celebrate Arne's achievements, please do join me in congratulating a truly outstanding colleague".
