UCL History of Art welcomes Fergus O'Connor

Fergus O’Connor joins Professor Pip Laurenson as Media Conservation Studio Co-ordinator on our new 2023 programme MSc Conservation of Contemporary Art and Media.

Fergus O’Connor has over 20 years’ experience working in the area of Time-based Media Conservation and the installation AV systems in a gallery / museum context. For much of his career Fergus installed and conserved media art at Tate as a Senior Conservation Technician and during this time he undertook research projects into synchronised slide-based artworks and digital asset storage. Since 2017 Fergus has been working as a consultant for artists and organisations alongside supporting the technical delivery of the exhibition and showcasing programme at UAL (LCF).  

Fergus brings a wide range of expertise in working with a variety of analog and digital media formats which the new Media Conservation Studio in the Marshgate Culture Lab is designed to accommodate. 

Office hours: Wednesday, Friday and alternate Thursdays.
