My research focuses on the cardiovascular effects, using non-invasive cardiac output monitoring, of vasopressors and different types of fluid used to treat spinal anaesthesia induced hypotension during caesarean section.
Current research projects include a randomised, double-blind study to compare ECG changes during elective caesarean section when using a phenylephrine or ephedrine infusion, a randomised study to assess the changes in FRC which BMI has in term pregnant women in different positions and a study looking into the molecular mechanism of epidural related maternal fever.
How UK obstetric anaesthetists assess neuraxial anaesthesia for caesarean delivery: National surveys of practice conducted in 2004 and 2010.
The effect of posture and baricity on the spread of intrathecal bupivacaine for elective cesarean delivery.
