What does the Fellowship involve?

Fellows rotate between. Sam content pls. Periop Content below for ideas only

  • Clinical time on the PACUs (Post Anaesthetic Care Unit – a surgical critical care/HDU),
  • Having dedicated time and £10,000 to go towards MSc/PG Certificate/PG Dilpoma work,
  • Leadership
  • Preoperative week including prehabilitaion and high risk clinics (Frailty,  MDT)
  • Postoperative Sutgical Rounds eg NELA (National Emergency Laparotomy Audit)
  • Quality Improvement projects

Each fellow has a mentor- one of the clinical POM consultants
As consultants we're heavily invested in how our fellows are doing- at work, study and outside. At least  3 times a year we have formal department meetings after which we go for dinner together; consultants and fellows.
