About the role
The UCL Institute of the Americas is seeking to fill a Lecturer (Teaching) position in the History of the United States and the World. The position is fixed-term for one year (1st September 2023-31st August 2024) to cover a member of academic staff who holds a Leverhulme Major Research Fellowship.
The role holder will carry out teaching and administration within the Institute of the Americas, especially in the area of the history of the United States and the world after 1865. We expect the postholder to convene our core postgraduate taught training module AMER0057: Researching the Americas and to teach on our core US History survey module AMER0050: The Making of Modern America since 1920. They will convene a one-term postgraduate taught option and a one-term undergraduate optional module. They will contribute to other team-taught modules, and take on administrative responsibilities in the department.

About you
Applicants must have a PhD in History or related subject. They should have proven experience of teaching and assessment at university level in US history, as well as research and/or teaching expertise in the history of the United States and the world after 1865.
