Lizzie Evens co-coordinates BAAS seminar series

Gendered State Violence series

This Autumn, as part of the BAAS-funded project looking at the history of gendered state violence in the United States, we are hosting a series of seminars and conversations with archivists, activists, and academics. Elizabeth Evens
Lizzie Evens recently completed her PhD at UCL Institute of the Americas, and her thesis was titled Regulating Women: Female Professionals and Gendered Surveillance in the Late Nineteenth- and Early Twentieth-Century United States. Lizzie worked under the supervision of Professor Jonathan Bell and Dr Nick Witham.
