Professor Ana María Yévenes, Director of the
Department of Family Studies of Finis Terrae University in Santiago, Chile,
visited UCL Institute of the Americas with ten of her students to meet with Professor Maxine Molyneux. The
purpose of the visit was to meet with scholars in the field and to make
students aware of the opportunities in Europe for further study and research in
family and gender studies. To this end, UCL Institute of the Americas and Cambridge were the two
UK universities that were selected to visit. Professor Molyneux was asked to talk
about her current policy-related research on gender and the family and a lively
seminar and exchange of information about ongoing research took place.
Maxine Molyneux is professor of Sociology at UCL Institute of the Americas.
