Webinar participants will offer an interim assessment of his record after almost two years of his six-year presidential term. What progress has the AMLO administration made in combatting corruption and addressing widespread criminal violence? How effective have the government’s social policies been in addressing socioeconomic inequality? In what ways has AMLO strengthened, or undermined, democratic governance in Mexico?
Participants include Professor Alberto Olvera (Universidad Veracruzana), Professor Laurence Whitehead (Nuffield College, Oxford) and Professor Kevin Middlebrook (Institute of the Americas, UCL).
