Guests enjoyed a short talk from Professor Christoph Lindner (Dean of The Bartlett, UCL’s Faculty of the Built Environment, and Professor of Urban Studies) on The Bartlett’s research into the future of urban living.

Professor Lindner shared how the university’s research is responding to global challenges such as the climate crisis, energy transition, affordable housing, urban health and the rise of big data and AI. He also spoke on UCL’s exciting plans ahead of our upcoming bicentennial anniversary in 2026, including an ambitious philanthropic campaign.

UCL Chair of Council Victor Chu CBE (UCL Laws 1979) and Cathy Chui Lee (BA in Economics and Business with East European Studies 2004) also gave speeches and welcomed guests to the exceptional M+, which houses one of the world’s foremost collections of twentieth and twenty-first-century modern art.

Emma Hallett, UCL’s Associate Director of Alumni and Supporter Relations, reflected: “It was a delight to be back in Hong Kong to meet with members of our brilliant alumni community. The state-of-the-art M+ was a fitting venue for UCL’s alumni and friends to hear about The Bartlett’s cutting-edge work in the field of urban design.
