The London Entrepreneurs’ Challenge - The Process of Starting a Business by Helping You to do it Yourself
2 October 2013
The biggest and longest running university business plan competition in Britain is back! £15,000 in prizes up for grabs!
The London Entrepreneurs’ Challenge is a workshop programme and business plan competition open to all members of UCL, SOAS, Royal Veterinary College, Birkbeck, the School of Pharmacy and London Business School that takes participants through the process of starting a business by helping them do it for themselves.
The competition and events programme was launched for the first time in October 2002 and is now entering its twelfth year. The programme for this academic year will begin in October and will run until December. The full schedule can be found at http://www.londonentrepreneurschallenge.com/schedule.html
The first stage of the competition will involve producing an executive summary. These will be judged and prizes awarded at a small event in the middle of term. The second stage will aim for a more detailed business plan to be produced for a grand final in December 2013. Throughout the programme there will be substantial cash prizes totalling £15,000!
Judges will be drawn from across academic disciplines and commercial backgrounds. Teams will be judged on their concept, presentation, analysis and planning.
The competition element of the Entrepreneurs' Challenge will be supported by a series of workshops and mentors that will be available to everyone that takes part. Many of the presenters and mentors will be from external organisations and companies and all are business professionals that have proven their value in the commercial world.
Workshops for the teams will be held during term time from October to December. Topics to be covered, include:
- Assessing an idea
