Interview Skills - Recruitment and Selection

Professional Development Programme

Participants: This course is designed for staff wishing to develop their skills in interviewing candidates at a selection process.

All participants must have attended a UCL recruitment and selection qualifying course, either the Recruitment and Selection HR Policy Briefing, or one of the listed courses.

Interviewing and selecting the right people is essential to the success of every team and organisation. In conjunction with the Recruitment and Selection HR Policy Briefing, UCL are running a half day selection skills course aimed at developing the staff in interview techniques.

Anticipated learning outcomes:
By the end of the course participants will help participants to structure an interview, develop questions, apply the ORCE model of assessing (observe, record, classify, evaluate) and practice with feedback from the facilitator.

The programme supports the UCL core behaviour framework in particular effective communication and organisational citizenship.
