Research Interests

I am currently working on the Creating a Web-Based Platform for English Language Teaching and Learning project.

Background

I taught English A level for 15 years, first at Colchester Sixth Form College and then at St. Francis Xavier Sixth Form College in south London. My main interests are in English Language A level and the teaching of English Language in secondary schools. I have a BA in English Language and Literature from the University of York and a PGCE in English and Communications from the University of Leicester.

I'm also an AQA A level senior examiner, contributor to emag (a magazine aimed at A level English students, produced by the English and Media Centre), co-author of the Nelson Thornes AQA A English Language AS textbook, and A level English Language blogger.
