Current students

Student Agreement: what we expect from you

We also expect all students to adhere to the following student agreement:

  • Read these pages carefully.
  • Read your UCL emails regularly as important information from both BASc staff and central UCL services will be sent to this account.
  • Departmental notices will be posted on the main noticeboards located in the BASc Common Room (1-4 Malet Place).
  • You are encouraged to join our social media pages, including Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/groups/198331693629040/), Twitter (@UCLbasc) and Instagram (UCLbasc)
  • Keep your key contact details up to date via the student information service, Portico (http://www.ucl.ac.uk/portico). This includes your current address and phone number, Key Skills and HEAR data. Contact the Departmental Administrator, Cristy Meadows (c.meadows@ucl.ac.uk), if you’re unsure how to do this.
  • Set aside at least 40 hours a week for academic work. Do regular reading for each class and attend each class prepared to speak.
  • Attend all classes and lectures.
  • Know your assessment deadlines and meet them.
  • Remember to meet with your Personal Tutor at least five times during your first year and at least three times during Year 2 and your final year.
  • If you have a problem, please speak to somebody about it. This can be your Personal Tutor, the Departmental Tutor, the Course Tutor, the Departmental Administrator or the Administrative Manager.
