Programme eligibility for Direct Loans

Most degree programmes at UCL are eligible for Direct Loans, however, some are not.

Ineligible programmes include all non-degree programmes (e.g. PG Dip, PG Cert); Distance Learning programmes (where study mode is 'Distance Learning', 'Non-Resident' or 'Mixed-mode'); programmes based in the UCL Medical School, programmes based at UCL East and some programmes with a taught element offered at non-UCL sites.

Students will not be eligible for Federal Direct Loans whilst on any part of a programme based in the US, including study leave, unless the total number of credits taken in the US is no more than 25% of the total programme credits or if it is during the writing-up period of a PhD.

See the Terms and Conditions tab for further details about ineligible courses. If you are not sure whether your course is eligible, please contact us to discuss.
