1st February: Book your place now for the Widening Participation & Student Success Community of Practice Awards 2024
We have an amazing set of people at UCL who do some fantastic work for our WP agenda, and we would like to take this opportunity to celebrate every one of you who work towards making UCL a place for everyone, no matter your circumstances or background.
This is the second time we have hosted this event, which has been organised to reflect and recognise some of the fantastic Widening Participation and Student Success initiatives, projects and individual practice that's been happening at UCL.
Last year, we received over 60 nominations and were absolutely delighted that everyone has embraced this event. We are back for 2024, bigger, better and ready to celebrate WP & Student Success with our wonderful community.
As part of the evening, we will give out six special awards.
The aim of the Widening Participation and Student Success (WP & SS) Community of Practice Awards is to celebrate WP & SS activity across UCL. However, we are looking to particularly recognise and reward those who do not do WP & SS as part of their everyday job. Therefore, most of our staff awards are for those who do WP or SS work as an extra element of their role at UCL. The categories and descriptions on the nomination form should make this clear.
The categories are:
- Inclusive Practice Award - Staff (Individual or Team)
- Student Success Award – Staff (Individual or Team)
- Practitioner Award – Staff (Individual or Team)
- Student Award- PhD Students or Early Career Researcher
- Widening Access Award – Project
- Community Engagement Award – Project
- People’s Choice Award (to be voted for on the night).

Nominations are open now and will close at 9am on 8 January 2024. You can nominate as many people or teams as you see fit. We would love for every staff member passionate about WP and Student Success get recognised, so do not be shy! You are also welcome to self-nominate yourself, your team or project.
