UCL UCU support for Ceasefire Now protest in UCL Quad, Wed 7 Feb 1-2pm

Last week, members at our branch General Meeting voted overwhelmingly in favour of supporting a UK-wide day of action calling for an immediate and unconditional Ceasefire in Israel/Palestine this Wednesday, 7 February.

This Wednesday, the Stop the War Coalition and the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament have called for workers across the UK to #StandWithGaza as part of a Workplace Day of Action. Nationally, several unions, including UCU, NEU and the PCS, have endorsed this call.

We would therefore ask colleagues to join our students in a lunchtime protest in the UCL Quad from 1-2pm, to demand:

  • An immediate ceasefire
  • The release of all hostages and political prisoners
  • Ensuring the safety of civilians in Gaza, stop the forced migration, and lift the blockade
  • Ending the occupation of Palestine and negotiating a solution
  • Ending institutional complicity in potential war crimes

We are asking people to speak up, and stand with Gaza. 

Colleagues are welcome to bring their own banners or placards on these and related themes!
