UCL UCU: MAB organising meeting Tues & Academic Board motion

2 June 2023

Notice of Extraordinary MAB Organising Meeting

Next week will be a very important one for the current Marking and Assessment Boycott (MAB) industrial action at UCL.

Please come to an Extraordinary MAB Organising Meeting (MABers welcome

Tuesday 6 June at 1pm.

Please register to receive a zoom link for this meeting.

The agenda will include:

  1. Pledging and Mabbing

  2. When and How to Declare

  3. Academic Board

The meeting is open to all members, but is set up especially to allow all MAB participants to get involved.

Please Support Your Colleagues

UCL has said the deadline for colleagues to declare their participation is next Friday, 9 June.

Every member deserves everyone's support.

We are asking everyone who is not in a position to participate in the MAB to please make a donation or a pledge. Our aim is to reduce the financial burden of the industrial action on colleagues to 1/5 of the total, i.e. to 1/2 a day per week after tax.

But because a lot of colleagues are participating, we need your help!

All donations and pledges are welcome.

See this online form for pledging or MABbing.

Special Academic Board Meeting

Also on Friday 9 June, UCL has called the Special Academic Board requisitioned by over 100 members of Academic Board to discuss UCL's approach to 'mitigate', i.e. work around the MAB to progress and graduate students where marks are missing.
