Local hardship fund claim guidance

Guidance on claiming from the UCL UCU local hardship fund for the first phase of industrial action - 25 November to 3 December 2019

If you have participated in industrial action called by UCU as part of the USS and 'four fights' campaigns, and UCL has docked pay from you as a result, you may be entitled to apply to UCL UCU’s Strike Hardship fund ("Local Fund").

If you are paid less than £30K per annum you can claim a maximum of £75 (for the first day of strike action taken).

If you are paid more than £30K per annum you can claim a maximum of £100 (up to £50 for each of the first two days of strike action take).

First please read the guidance on submitting a claim to the central UCU Fighting Fund.

To expedite your claim to our local Local Fund we suggest that you first make a claim from the central UCU Fighting Fund.

To make a claim from our Local Fund please first read the detailed guidance on making a claim to the Local Fund and then complete our online Local Fund claim form. You will need to upload evidence of loss of pay (see additional guidance if you are hourly paid and do not receive a regular salary). This form covers the first phase of strike action from 25 November to 4 December 2019 inclusive (8 days total). UCL has chosen to make deductions for this phase in the February 2020 pay period. Separate forms will be used for the deductions for the second phase of strike action in February and March 2020.

If your application is successful payment will be made by cheque to the address that you provide.

Thank you for supporting our industrial action.
